Dr.R.K.Gang specialized in General Surgery in 1976 and obtained training in Plastic Surgery at New Delhi, India and Uppsala Sweden. He has got fellowship from Royal College of Surgeon, Edinburgh, United Kingdom. He has been working in the field of Plastic Surgery for the last 40 years, with a teaching experience of 26 years. He has also been an active member of several professional societies. In the past his main interests have been management of burns, including intensive care, congenital anomalies, hand surgery, microsurgery, cosmetic surgery, application of laser in plastic surgery, and reconstruction following ablative oral malignancies and lower leg reconstruction. At present he is working as eminent cosmetic surgeon in GCC and is based for last 16 years in the kingdom of Bahrain and practicing at Ibn Alnafees hospital (highly specialized multi specialty hospital) for last 11 years and doing exclusively cosmetic surgery and nonsurgical management of the rejuvenation of the face and contouring the body. He is known among the patients to deliver what they want in a more natural way that they look good without the knowledge of others being known. Dr.Gang published more than 82 original articles in various peer reviewed indexed journals and presented 86 papers in different national and international conferences and keynote lecture. His works have been extensively cited in journals including books.

Experimental demonstration of the importance of split
skin allograft on wound epithelialization from autologus patch grafts, This
study had a major impact in the treatment of major burns.
Introduction of the concept of neuroskin island flap (lateral calcaneal artery
island flap) as a method of treatment of soft tissue defect of posterior heel.
Subsequently other authors developed similar flaps in other parts of the
body.
Development of thread technique in the treatment of ganglia, which avoids
postoperative morbidity and reduces recurrence.
Proposed and recommended the management of thermal injury in pregnant patients
in relation to trimester and percentage of burn.
Importance of ultra thin free anterolateral thigh flap in the reconstruction of
various defects of the body.
